Today there are many debt relief agencies that are springing up all over the place because of the faulty economy and all of the people who are struggling with their debt. These debt struggles come in a variety of different forms, from mortgage problems to credit card debt. There are some non profit debt relief services that are designed to handle these specific problems and there are some that are even recommended for debt counseling services by the federal government. These non profit debt relief services make money in a variety of ways, many of which are through donations by individuals or businesses that believe in what they are doing. They can also receive money from government grants so that they can continue to provide their services for free to individuals who use them.

Budgeting

When going to a non profit debt relief service in order to get help when in credit card and mortgage debt where foreclosure could be in the near future if help is not obtained, there are certain steps that have to be followed in order to receive the help. First, the non profit debt relief service organization sends the person a lot of paperwork that they need to fill out so that the organization can understand what his situation really is financially. The paperwork usually has the person list out what money he brings in each month, what is put into a savings or other account, and what all of his bills are each month, including food and gas bills.

All of the person’s creditor information is also listed out, including the monthly payments as well as the total amount that is owed to the creditor. After all of this information in gathered by the non profit debt relief service, then a meeting is scheduled in order to provide counseling to that person about ways that they can change their budget and also resolve their debts. Sometimes these counseling services through the non profit debt relief service will take more than one session to go through all of the paperwork and decide on a plan of attack to help with the debt.

Once the non profit debt relief service has come up with a plan for the individual, then they may also offer to help that individual call the different creditors and let them know what the plan is and to get their help in going along with it.

To read an updated version and for more information about debt settlement lawyers and bankruptcy lawyer attorney check out different types of lawyers.

The main problem is that dept settlement lawyers often charge high fees to help individuals get out of debt. And then you also have credit repair clinics to assist individuals with debt relief, but only the absolute desperate would even consider these types of solutions. So, if this is not the solution for repairing credit, then what is? Many people that suffer from bad credit often wallow in a pond of self-pity believing there is no escape. Most people sit around waiting for the miracle that came to their neighbor’s door to hit their door. The fact is there are no miracles that happen when it comes to credit repair unless someone takes the first step to take care of the problem. We all experience financial problems at times, and some of us more than others. It depends on the amount you owe, but for most of us getting out of debt is possible.

Let’s consider Bankruptcy Chapter 7. Chapter 7 Bankruptcy allows families and individuals to erase many of the debts owed to consumers. Chapter 7 Bankruptcy will often erase medical bills, home mortgage, car payments, and credit card bills. The disadvantage with Chapter 7 Bankruptcy is that in most instances you will have to give up some of your assets. Once you fill out the appropriate papers you will then go into an ‘automatic stay’ which stops all your creditors from contacting you.

This means that the creditors cannot garnish money from your checks each month to apply toward the bills you owe. It also means that the creditors can not deduct money from your checking, savings, money market accounts and so on. You are also protected temporarily since the consumers are not allowed to discontinue your electric or gas.

The advantage of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy is that you have a degree of control over all assets and income that are available once the bankruptcy is in motion. There are debts that cannot be wiped out by filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Those debts include child support payments, college tuition loans, criminal fines and costs, or other similar bills. The problem with filing bankruptcy is that new laws are coming that will make it more difficult for debtors to file. The new laws in motion are nearly prohibiting debtors from finding a solution.

Another form of bankruptcy that is available is the Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. Chapter 13 Bankruptcy means that the debtor keeps their assets while making lower monthly installments on their belongings. This is a good solution for building credit. If you missed car or home payments it is a solution to help you repair your credit. The downside with Chapter 13 is that if you miss payments the courts has the right to change your plans. If the courts see that the delay is only temporarily they may issue you a ‘grace period’ until you get back on track, otherwise you might get a ‘hardship discharge,’ which means that your debts are dismissed. The best solution then is finding a solution for the problem that won’t lead you into the courtrooms.

This is only a headache since you will have to make court meetings, be in someone else’s control, and so on. The first step to repairing your credit and building to a better future is put some taps on your spending habits. Setting up a budget plan is a great start to credit repair without hitting the courts. Before long the law is going to make it virtually impossible for anyone to go to bankruptcy court, so it is time to get started now. If you are not good at budgeting, there are Nonprofit Organizations that will help you set up a budget plan for little or no cost.

Remember you are not alone, and there are people out there willing to help you get back on your feet. If you don’t want to bother someone else with a budget plan you could also consider to purchase software programs that offer the tools for budgeting. Quicken and many other software programs have excellent spreadsheet programs, analyzing tools, and so on to get you on the road to budgeting your money in order to repair your credit.

Information is this article is for information purposes only. Always contact your lawyer if you need legal advice.

When the economy gets as tight as it is today, so do banks. We hear news reports that the credit crunch has now hit the banks. Banks are no longer keen to extend the charitable credit limits of the past.

Your APR may rise overnight due a late or skipped payment, no matter how long you’ve maintained a spotless payment record. Plenty of folks find themselves taking a cash advance on one credit card, to make the minimum payment on an alternative. Cash advances mean a transaction fee, while making the minimum payment on the other barely keeps you afloat until the next payments are due. This type of activity can put you in a downward spiral which ends unhappily. Your credit rating goes down, your rates go up and you’ve got a mess on your hands.

While this isn’t a pretty picture, your need for credit advice is becoming apparent. You know you can’t continue this way, but what can you do?

If you were to sit down with your kids and try to give them your unsurpassed credit advice, what would you say? You’ve been there, done that, and the credit advice you give them will be the voice of experience. Learn to follow your own advice. Here are the cardinal rules of credit.

1.If you can’t afford to pay cash for an item, don’t buy it. If you reserve the use of credit cards to purchases such as gasoline, clothing and regular expenditures for which you already have cash in hand, you can maintain a credit history and good credit rating by setting that cash aside and paying off those credit cards each month.
2.Emergency expenditures do crop up. You may need a root canal for which your insurance only pays a limited amount. A credit card may be used wisely for such purposes. Our credit advice in this situation? Adjust your monthly budget and pay it off in the shortest period of time. It may be tempting to make that minimum payment, but it may take a year to pay it off. The interest alone may turn that root canal into a $1000 deal.
3.Almost everyone ignores this prudent bit of credit advice: Do not finance holiday shopping on a credit card! Sure, you require your relatives to enjoy the great gifts you can put on a credit card. However, you don’t want them to suffer six months down the road when you’re unable to pay for essentials.
4.No matter how tight your budget is, almost everyone can afford to put aside $10 a week in a savings account. Not much, but in a year’s time, you can pay cash for that root canal!

In a nutshell, our greatest credit advice is not to live beyond your means. Establish a savings plan, no matter how modest. You never know what life may throw your way.

With increasing oil prices, you may wonder how companies help to monitor the prices and keep costs low. After all, companies need to keep a tight rein on expenses. With a fleet card to monitor the transportation costs, you can decide to limit the card to payments for fuels only instead of other items at a petrol station.

What Fleet Cards USA does is to explain the difference between fleet cards and gas cards. Gas cards are used to purchase fuel only, but fleet cards will help to track individual vehicles, drivers, type of fuel, and other minute details which will allow the company to make better decisions. This will also cut down on fraudulent purchases.

Since the company has a wide variety of services, different companies can choose different types of reporting and packages. Some are free, while some are fee-based. This will ensure companies to maximise their profits by selecting the best options.

There is a list of four of the top fleet cards in the US. Before applying for the fuel cards, check out the savings listed and find one that is suitable for the company. It also depends on the petrol company that the company has been using. These fleet cards are given by credit card merchants such as Mastercard.

fleet card fuel card gas card tracking
